Apples on ice

Neige Apple Ice Wine from Canada is crisp, clean and refreshing. It's actually referred to as "Cidre de glace" (apple ice cider), since it's not made with grapes. With an ABV of 10%, and a strong apple flavor, it can be enjoyed chilled all by itself, or with an apple dessert or fruit and cheese platter.

What was appealing to me about this "wine" was the perfect balance of sugar and acidity. Any sweet wines should be balanced by good acidity, or they end up tasting cloying and syrupy. A crisp sweet wine, on the other hand, refreshes the palate and makes you want to go back for another sip. Neige has captured this balance, creating a beverage that can be enjoyed on the deck...or by the fire.
