Todd Thrasher Wins 42BELOW Cocktail World Cup

6-42-BELOW-1-cmyLast Saturday evening, March 27th, Restaurant Eve's/PX's Todd Thrasher, along with other USA teammates, Mark Stoddard of Bitter Bar in Boulder, CO, and Sean Hoard of PDT in NYC, were awarded the winners of the 42BELOW Cocktail World Cup.

Thrasher was one of 24 bartenders from seven countries who competed in a week of high intense competitions held in Queenstown and Wellington, New Zealand, culminating in the final event themed “Love, Drinks and Rock n Roll, baby” at Wellington's old museum building.

Thrasher and Team USA was crowned by their peers of judges; best bartenders in the world, with their cocktail, created by Todd Thrasher 'I have too much thyme on my hands right now at this point in my life,' made with 42BELOW Pure, apple bitters, lime thyme syrup and an artichoke aperitif. Thrasher is best known as the man behind the inventive and award winning cocktails at Alexandria's Restaurant Eve, PX and The Majestic. He approaches each cocktail with a chef’s eye, and sources the highest quality ingredients when creating each one.

Here's the winning recipe, unfortunately not really replicable at home, since I don't have the recipes for the artichoke aperitif, lime thyme syrup or apple bitters...
